We are off to a fast start this school year with many projects underway. We are thrilled with the outcome and participation in the annual Fun Run co-sponsored with Meiklejohn PTA. The turn out by students and parents alike is a true testament to the involvement and support provided to our school community and students. Thank you!
If you haven’t had a chance, please stop by the school to view the garden expansion. Wellness received a grant from the CDE to fund the expansion and development of our school garden, managed by the Garden Club. Over the last two weekends, they excavated and built 5 new garden beds for use by classrooms, students, faculty, and the Garden Club. The space is looking beautiful and we are excited to see the interesting and fun things the classes and students will plant and grow this Spring, Summer, and Fall. Read the updates from Garden Club to learn more.
Stay tuned to see the other great programs brought to our students and staff by Meiklejohn Wellness such as; health/wellness related books in the individual classrooms and the library, after school enrichment programs focused on physical activity and nutritional education, staff wellness programs, further garden development, and community outreach.
Our next meeting is Monday, November 21st.
