RECYCLE – Show you care.
We want your empty inkjet or laser printer cartridges and old cell phones.
Last year alone, more than 500 million cartridges were thrown away. The EPA estimates that only 10% of the 140 million cellphones replaced each year are recycled.
Save the Earth and help our school earn money. That’s right, the stuff you’re throwing away can easily be converted into valuable supplies for our classrooms!
How does it work?
We collect printer cartridges and cellphones and send them to a recycler who gives us points or cash for purchasing books, equipment, and supplies. Last year Meiklejohn earned 350 points redeemable for useful school items like flash drives, crayons, footballs, chairs, and science experiments.
To make it easy for you, we have placed a drop-off box just inside the front door of the school so start sending in your “e-cycle” items and save the Earth one cartridge at a time!
Tell your friends, family, and neighbors to help us recycle.
